Colorado horseman Aaron Ralston grew up in the ranching world in which horses are part of everyday life. It wasn't until later that he began training and showing reiners and working cow horses. He was part of Team USA at the World Equestrian Games in 2006, in Germany, where he won an individual bronze and helped the team earn a gold medal riding Smart Paul Olena, a stallion owned by Ralston and his wife, Meg.
Don Murphy has trained and shown reining and cow horses since the early 1960s. A few of his winning mounts include Sparking Train, RS Lily Starlight and Bald N Shiney. He lives in Marietta, Oklahoma, and continues to train and travel the country sharing his knowledge with young trainers at clinics and shows.
Kerry Kuhn's practical horsemanship program, based at the JJ Ranch near Coats, Kansas, provides skills to improve a horse and rider's connection through performance. Kuhn has appeared on RFD-TV's Best of America by Horseback, and presents clinics and demonstrations at horse expos nationwide. The Kansas horseman appears in September's Western Horseman in "Transform Your Transitions" on page 66.
