July 13, 2010Project Cowboy is rounding up the most talented cowboys and cowgirls in a search for “the Great American Horseman.” Entries for Project Cowboy are rolling in, but space is limited to 200 competitors ready to be launched into stardom. Entries are open until September 1.

Jointly produced by Tootie Bland Productions and Patti Colbert Enterprises, Project Cowboy will take the western world by storm October 8-10 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center’s Watt Arena. Project Cowboy is a competition open to all horsemen or horsewomen who embrace the cowboy spirit and demonstrate exceptional horsemanship and communication skills.

The champion will receive $10,000 cash, a Martin trophy saddle and a Gist trophy buckle. The winner will also receive an invitation to appear at the 2011 Road to the Horse Legends World Championship and 2011 Extreme Mustang Makeover events, in addition to other major equine events and expos.

Project Cowboy is looking for that amazingly talented horseman or horsewoman who has yet to be discovered,” says Patti Colbert. “Project Cowboy will make them famous!”

Project Cowboy includes several rounds of competition that will challenge the horsemanship and communication skills of the competitors. All competitors, on their own mount, will be challenged to showcases their talents in the pen and on the screen.  Elimination rounds will progress offering more diverse and challenging obstacles to prove who will receive the title of “the Great American Horseman.”

Interested horsemen and horsewomen are encouraged to visit www.ProjectCowboy.net and download an application. All entry forms must be completed and postmarked by September 1, 2010. An entry fee of $300 must be submitted with the entry form.

Cowboy isn’t the clothes you wear or the saddle you ride. Cowboy is a state of mind. Project Cowboy seeks the individual who best represents the spirit of the Cowboy. From equitation riders to rodeo competitors, mailmen to ranch hands, ordinary to extraordinary, the Project Cowboy search will find “The Great American Horseman.”
