10th Annual Rocky Mountain Breeders Association Production, Performance & Ranch Horse Sale
August 28, 2010 • Deer Lodge, Montana
Rocky Mountain Breeders Association (RMBA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2001 to develop, promote and market quality stock and performance horses. Members include an active group of more than 70 ranches raising Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas. The association hosts numerous activities each year, including a stallion service auction, ranch horse competitions, a Tri-Breed Special Event Show, several clinics and the annual sale.
The RMBA promotes a good using horse that is the result of proven performance bloodlines and quality breeding programs, says Jan Finn of J Bar F Performance Horses and a member of RMBA.
This year’s sale marks the association’s 10th, and it’s a breeder’s sale with a reputation for offering quality saddle horses, young prospects and broodmares. Buyers will have an opportunity to bid on some 75 horses at the sale, and prospective buyers are encouraged to contact consignors before the sale to arrange a viewing of horses they are interested in. Sale horses will be available for viewing during the sale weekend, and stallion owners are encouraged to bring their stallions for Stallion Alley.
Over the course of the sale weekend, RMBA hosts ranch horse classes with added monies, limited to horses that have gone through the sale, along with ranch horse classes limited to horses bred by RMBA members. Open ranch horse competitions that offer added monies and include a reining pattern and cow work are also available.
