Sixes in the Spotlight

Road to the Horse kicks off this weekend, March 18–20, in Lexington, Kentucky. I captured this image at the colt-starting competition several years ago. It's cowboys of the Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, bringing the young horses into the coliseum. Each year, Road to the Horse contestants select which horse they will start under saddle for the competition, and for the past several years the Four Sixes has provided the stock.Road to the Horse kicks off this weekend, March 18–20, in Lexington, Kentucky. I captured this image at the colt-starting competition in 2014. It's cowboys of the Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, bringing the young horses into the coliseum at Kentucky Horse Park. Each year, Road to the Horse contestants select which horse they will start under saddle for the competition, and for the past several years the Four Sixes has provided the stock. I will be there again this year, covering the event and enjoying the display of fine horses and horsemanship.
